A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive review of someone's mental health history. This always occurs on a first visit.
Topics to be reviewed include active symptoms, past psychiatric history, family history, medical history, substance history, and social supports both now and in the past.
Please bring in a list of your current medications and any psychiatric medical records you may have.
Weekly psychotherapy is 45 minutes and will work on target symptoms and/or LGBTQ specific topics.
My approach in psychotherapy tends to be more active and action oriented. Some dynamic interventions will be used, but my style is eclectic.
Follow-up visits occur after the initial evaluation. They are 30 minutes in length and typically cover a review of treatment so far.
Medications will be reviewed and lab work may need to be ordered.
